Iowa Ranch Horse Queen Contest

Queen Contest will be held on Sunday June 16th, in conjunction with our Afton show weekend. We will be holding classes for Senior and Junior queen contestants.

Requirments are as follows;

Seniors;

Ages: 16-26 as of January 1st

Must participate in both shows (Saturday & Sunday) in Afton

Must have been an IRHA member in a previous year

Must participate in TWO IRHA shows in the current calendar year (2019), other than the weekend of the contest (IE; May Afton Show, Auburn, Marshalltown)

Will be available to help at banquet with awards

Will be available for Iowa Ranch Horse Association events including; clinics, expos, etc.

Will be available for flag presentation before shows

Juniors;

Ages: 10-15 as of January 1st

Must participate in both shows (Saturday & Sunday) in Afton

Must have been an IRHA member in a previous year

Must participate in TWO IRHA shows in the current calendar year (2019), other than the weekend of the contest (IE; May Afton Show, Auburn, Marshalltown)

Will be available to help at banquet with awards

Will be available for Iowa Ranch Horse Association events including; clinics, expos, etc.

Will be available for flag presentation before shows

Open to our out of state members

Contest will consist of a rail class judged by our show judge of the day (demonstrating the gaites of a working ranch horse), and a queen salute. Contestants will also be asked 3 equine and IRHA related questions at the end of their ride.

Winners will be eligible to compete at the Iowa State Fair (must be an Iowa resident to enter ISF contest)

(IRHA will not pay for state fair entry fees)
